Getting Here

The NC Fossil Festival is located in downtown Aurora, NC off NC Highway 33 in Beaufort County.

Approaching from the West

From US Highway 17 at Chocowinity, Take NC Highway 33 east towards Aurora for about 25 miles. At Aurora, take a left onto 3rd Street. Festival parking is located one block ahead between Chapin and Pearl St. Festival attractions are centered around Main St one block ahead.

Approaching from the South

From NC 55 at Bayboro, Take NC Highway 306 North to it’s intersection with NC Highway 33. Take a right on NC 33 east towards Aurora for about 5 miles. At Aurora, take a left onto 3rd Street. Festival parking is located one block ahead between Chapin and Pearl St. Festival attractions are centered around Main St one block ahead.

Approaching from the North

From US 264 at Belhaven, take NC Highway 99 south to the Bayview Ferry Terminal at NC Highway 306. Take the ferry across the Pamlico River to the Aurora Terminal. Continue south on NC 306 passing the PCS Phosphate/Nutrien mine property. At Aurora, continue past main street to NC 33. Turn left on NC 33. After about a mile, turn left onto 3rd St. Festival parking is located one block ahead between Chapin and Pearl St. Festival attractions are centered around Main St one block ahead.

Please follow signs posted on Hwy 33 for parking. Parking will be in the large field between Pearl and Chapin Streets

Camping is $50 (plus processing fees) per night and available Friday and Saturday night. Spaces are 30 x 20 feet. No electricity, water, or sewer hookups available.

Only self-contained Recreational Vehicles campers.

Through the agreement of rental of space, RV owner agrees that they will have active insurance policies in place and are compliant with all department of motor vehicles regulations for us of Recreational Vehicles. Applicants also release the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc., the Town of Aurora, and the North Carolina Fossil Festival organizations and individuals of all liability.
